I had many fathers – a father, a stepfather, and two grandfathers. I saw and lived with them at different stages in my growing up years. Each one had something special about him, each one taught me invaluable lessons about life. From each one, I learned about different things – protection, support, friendship, respect, generosity, altruism. They all did their best to show me how much I was loved. Growing up, I didn’t feel as if I missed out on anything. Because even though I didn’t have a permanent father, I had a smorgasbord of fathers who came in and out of my life.
To all the Fathers out there, the ones who love unconditionally and who hold us all together –
We honor you today with much, much love.
